Well I found this beauty on the big auction and just got it today I am one happy camper.thought I'd share some pics but I have a concern (hope its nothin) let me know,

first is the bow itself next is a pic of my concern here goes

I took a pic of the arrow on the rest and this is what I see, this bothers me,the bow shoots fine even though I haven't dialed it in yet.
What do ya all think?

Anointed Archer

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Sharpend60

As you draw the bow it will torq the string towards the riser. I think your okay.

I'm not sure if the bow was designed that way but it aught to shoot fine provided you tune yer arrow.

owlbait

Maybe check for some limb twist. Strip the plate and shelf off and redo it? I'm sure the Bear experts will let you know for sure. I hope its all roses for you and you enjoy it for many years.

I have a Green Stripe that is the same way and I have seen others.

I've been out shootin it, man these bows shoot great! I am using the string that came with the bow and just swapped some tips from a set of arrows, I adjusted the brace height to where it should be. the bow came with two sets of limbs the other ones that were on the bow in the box are #3 limbs which make I beleive a 64" bow but that is too long for me, so I will be on the hunt for some #1s in FF. Also will have to get some strings ordered up.

Jack Shanks

Looks like an early riser. What is the seial number?

I was on the search for that info a few days ago I believe it is 82ish? This riser needs some TLC when I opened the box it came in the smell of fresh clear laquer just about nocked me over and the white strips are starting to yellow, it is also missing the Bear medallion, other than that I am very happy.Oh here is another pic

Jack Shanks

'82 sounds about right. I had 4120 and I believe that was an '82 also.

Bill Carlsen

I was looking at that....went for big bucks as I recall.
The best things in life....aren't things!

That was a good price with two sets of limbs that Motorhead got. Mine went for a little more.

You'll like that one.

Hears a pic of mine.

Blackstick

motorhead, Don't worry about the shelf cut, I believe that is normal with the Bear T/Ds. I have a 1990 and a new red stripe and the shelf is the same on both. Some get a little more radius than others since they are ground in by hand and possibly different people.

cacciatore

Very nice finding, you own a great shooting bow, accurate and depandable!

Thanks for the pic comparison (blackstick) that puts my mind at ease, (Bill Carlsen)the longer I would wait to get a greenstripe bow the more it would cost, as said I did get 2 sets of limbs and a pretty cool hand made wooden box to keep the bow in, the box is very unique. I will have to try and find someone to refinish the riser as it is in need, but for now I will shoot it as much as I can and get it dialed in. There is a posibility that I will go to Utah for a mulie bow hunt and this fall probably Colorado for a late Elk hunt so I have got to get proficient with it,which is all part of the fun....
thanks Felix.

Nice Doug77 looks like your has a little bit better finish on it the white fiberglass doesn't look like it is yellowing but I think that is due to the old clearcoat on mine.

ChuckC

The wider the arrow, the less the center cut, or the thicker the strike plate, the more it will do that.  It will work.
