My wife and I got back from our FL hog hunt. She's been shooting with me about 3 years and decided to go with my brother, nephew and I and attempt to take a hog this year.

She shoots her BW PTF, 43@28 but she only pulls 22.5". It pulls 30# on my scale at her draw. I made her some 35-55, GT Trad arrows with 125 grn, Zwickey Eskimo 2 blades on 100 grain adaptors and ended up with a 500 grain arrow.

She's a very good shot and practiced with her setup shooting those 500 grain arrows at 3D shoots this spring. We were confident, with the right shot opportunity, the set up would work on a smaller hog.

She took this sow at about 12 yards. The pig came right at her at the shot and brushed her leg as it went by. I asked her if she was ok and she said ,"Yeah, but I almost peed myself!" She did a great job and she's already looking forward to next year!

She really enjoyed the hunt. We stalked, stand hunted and hunted with dogs. My brother took a sow, my nephew took 3, one was a very nice boar. I don't have pictures of these for some reason.

I took a nice boar on the last day. I'll post a picture a little later when i get caught up.

Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

Great job. A good shot with a light bow is better than a bad shot with a heavy one.
