Yesterday Collin (9 years old) came over to spend the afternoon with my wife and me while his parents, their cousin Justin and my youngest daughter  went out to eat and bowl.  I had met his family a month back and at the time me and his dad had discussed hunting, fishing and eventually Traditional bowhunting making small talk, Collin was all ears and my wife said you can come over and shoots sometime with my husband.  Well yesterday was that day and after a few minutes of coaching Collin was starting to get his form down and shoot pretty good!  After we were done shooting he must have called 12 different relatives to tell them about his day and.... Oh, how much better he is at shooting then me      :biglaugh:

I had read on this site and one of the others where Frank Addison (sp) "Aspirin Buster " had share a method of using ballons to teach instinctive shooting for kids (and adults       :jumper:    ) to keep it fun.  Well after about 30 minutes of just learning form and shooting blank bale I let Collin try his hand at the balloons the videos below tell the rest of the story.

John, John lives in Vancleave and was my first T/Gang member to meet. I also grew up in Pascagoula but migrated north. I've known John long enough to tell you that he would love to have you come shoot. We have frequent get togethers and more is better. Now go ahead and chime in John now that I've invited others to your house!

John, Kirk is right would love to get together and meet and shoot around, Kirk also has a "Big Spread" that open to everyone and anyone, he could probaly handle a hundred people at his place and provide all of the hot dogs and hamburgers a guy could eat

Send me or him a PM and maybe we can work out a date and time.

Kirk,

I don't know if I could stand to be beat by Collin every Friday!  It would scar me mentally and I don't think I could recover my great shooting form   :scared:

There's nothing like putting a bow in a kids hands for the first time and watching traditional archery take hold of them like it did us.  Nice going John.

i'll definitely shoot you guys a pm soon. i teach school in Daphne, AL, and we will be out for summer in a month. that will free up some more time for shooting.

my parents still live in Pascagoula, and i have some really good friends in Vancleave. would be fun to get together and shoot some time when i'm over that way. after years and years, i'm excited to see so many local trad shooters. in fact, a guy from my neighborhood contacted me by pm just yesterday, and we are going to maybe get up and shoot soon.

great stuff.
