I'm need to purchase some feathers and was curious as to which brand I should go with? Is there a difference?
So far True flight, AMG and Gateway all seam evenly priced.
I'm looking to shoot a 4" shield or parabolic in a LW Flo yellow color.
Is it worth it to chop my own?

I switched to Amg and I love them. Excellent quality and good price

Magnus wild turkey feathers. I just got some back from him that he finished for me from my turkeys and they were awesome.

I like true flight but I have not tried AMG. Need to try some from Magnus as well.

Magnus is also able to dye the natural turkey feathers as well.  Matt easily gets my vote as well.

Started with true flight and never had any reason to change

Trueflights then AMG both very good.      Gateway are way below them.

LAMADMAN

I am fletching right now using the AMG feathers. Got them from bowhunters superstore. This is my first time using them and Im very happy so far.

JamesKerr

I use both Tru Flights and Gateways. I really can't tell any difference it just depends on the availability of either brand.

I've used Gateway & Trueflight feathers.....the Trueflights get a slight edge.

I use both Trueflight and AMG. Both work equally well for me.

americanhunter7

Trueflight or Magnus, although I'd say Matt has the edge on quality for his ability to keep a consistent grind on feathers which makes his feather easier to fletch, which in turn allows for a better fit (adhesion) to the arrow. TF's are great feathers, but I've noticed the feather quality and grind quality to have gone down hill over the last few years. Oh and X2 on what Mike said as far as Matt's ability to dye feathers. Good luck.

Trueflights and gateways, can't tell the difference between them.

Trueflight or grind my own wild turkey... Ive tried gateway and AMG and both are ok but the quill base are too thick for me

For wild turkey or goose feathers Magnus is the guy....hands down.

For commercial feathers I've been using the Bear Paw fletching from Kustom King for a few months now....excellent quality and the base of the feathers looks and feels like they're polished. Base thickness is between True Flight and AMG.

Magnus for sure,Great product, great fella and a diehard sponsor.Hands down.

Magnus for natural turkey and goose. Trueflight for the rest. Tried gateway and don't like them. All depends how picky you are.

I've tried both Trueflight and Gateway and I prefer Gateway.

Reason being, I've found Gateways are more durable than Trueflight.

I was always refletching my arrows with Trueflight feathers "before" I was refletching my arrows with Gateways. The Trueflight were always the first to start looking ratty and making a hissing sound on the way to the target.
