quick story. shot a  2 yr old this am im full strut. hit was just below the beard (10 3/4"). waited hour and took up a great blood trail. 30yds into it , bird ran out from under a blowdown. backed out and went back with my Lab 6 hrs later. he found the turkey 20 yds from where he jumped on me.

I shot this bird with a 1 7/8" siverflame head that joebuck gave me at Tannehill shoot. shot was low and did not enter the body cavity. I think the wide head and razor sharp edge, contributed to the death of this bird. I jumped him up , 30 yards into the trail. then backed out and came back 7 hrs later with my Lab and he went right to the bird, 20 yds from where I saw him get up and run.

I have no doubt that  the wide super sharp head, had alot to do with this kil. shot was indeed low and never entered the body cavity. He just bled out . Priceless. DB

Joebuck is the turkey maestro! Congrats on the recovery. I thought maybe there was a chainsaw accident and a long overhand throw involved though!

Congrats buddy!

Sometimes things don't go as planned. When they don't, it's always nice to have a sharp, big cutting BH on the business end.

Well done on the recovery   :clapper:
