I have been shopping for a new longbow, and after reading all the info on here about the Toelke Whip longbow, I decided to order one.  Dan called me this morning (I emailed him last night).  He's probably the friendliest bowyer I've ever spoken to.  In no time at all we had the details worked out.  Settled on 66", 45# at 29, Texas Ebony riser with green myrtle limbs.  I can't wait until it gets here!  Has anybody seen or have a picture of what myrtle wood looks like when it's green in color?  I've never come across a green piece of myrtle.

That's gona look sharp. Dan is a class act and his bows are my favorite. Be sure to post pics when you get it. It's usually a short wait. (feels long, though  :)   )

I have a Whip HS and a Lynx from Dan.  They are unbelievably quiet and shoot spot on if I do my part.

The best thing is both of these bows were built and delivered within 4 - 5 weeks after discussing with Dan the specifics.

Dan is a great bowyer and one of the nicest guys there are to deal with. He built me one with the texas ebony riser, but it did not have green myrtle. Rest assured, it will be a beauty and at that length it should be smooth as butter.
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

Welcome to the club. After 6 other customs I settled on a Whip. I would be curious to hear what your setup ends up. I have shot a bunch of different shafts and broadheads. Let us know and congrats.

Unfortunately every time I try to take pics it starts to rain, in the sunlight the limbs have a greenish cast to them, you will love the whip when you get it.

Dan is a great guy to deal with and he won't steer you wrong on wood choices.

I've had a couple Whips in the 45# @29 range. Beman MFX 600s cut to 30.5" with the 75 gr insert and 125 gr head worked great.

I used to own a Texas Ebony one with stained Zebra limb vaneers over boo but traded it for a Fox recurve..I really liked that Whip...Nice wood choice...Keefers <><

I have a Super D and a new Super D coming next week.  I have several friends that have Tolekes and NO ONE that I am aware of has ever had to wait the "standard" 5 weeks Dan tells people.  I am TOTALLY sold on Toelke bows!

The quietest bows (as a whole) I have ever shot.  I don't care what model it is, it WILL BE QUIET!

Let me know if you don't like it! lol

Dan is one of the best. Not only as a bowyer buy also as a person. He has spent countless hours helping me on my form, arrow selection, etc. I've never seen an ugly bow come out of his shop and I know he and Jared will not settle for less than perfection on their products.
Enjoy the new bow!    :clapper:    :archer2:
