Who uses them?  if you use them what are the positives and negatives of them?

Eric

Jon Stewart

On my recurve.  Keeps the brush off the limb.

Effective but too noisy.

  • Leon Stewart 3pc. 64" R/D 51# @ 27"
  • Gordy Morey 2pc. 68" R/D 55# @ 28"
  • Hoyt Pro Medalist, 70" 42# @ 28" (1963)
  • Bear Tamerlane 66" 30# @ 28" (1966)- for my better half
  • Bear Kodiak 60" 47# @ 28"(1965)

Used them before I went to bow jax 2's. Find the bow jax to be much quieter.

oldskool

I like stick tamers better

I use them. I don't find them to be noisy at all. I'm gonna check out the bow jax and stick tamers tho.

I have them on all my recurves and have not found them to be noisy at all. Keeps the bow from always catching on small branches and such.
stalk softly and carry a bent stick

I took mine off, was always fooling with their positioning. Sometimes jamwed into the string, sometimes moved away from the limb. Much happier without.

I like the beige colored ones in the smaller size.  The stuff I hunt they are needed.  The only noisey ones I've had are black and a much harder rubber.

Hadn't thought about using bowjax, good idea and I have a bunch of them. Didn't like the brush buttons, they were the black ones and had all the troubles mentioned above.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!
