I beleive the Bowyer to be Paul Schwartz. Green Bay, Wisconsin. He made me a bow in 2008. Just builds a few bows a year. Excellent craftsman, builds beautiful bows and great guy to work with.

Very nice indeed.  Looks like it's patterned after a Wing Slim Line Pro.

SportHunter

Very nice bow, I wouldn't complain about that one.

Quite a few years ago a friend of mine and I saw one of these bows in a story in Traditional bowhunter Magazine maybe 10/12 years ago ...We were both asking questioins about them as well and not much was found but both He and I fell in love with the recurve design..I really like the looks myself of the profile and kind of reminds me of the RER Arroyo's in the riser section...Sure would like to see a strung profile of the limbs and tips if anyone else has any?

16 gauge has the right info.  I have one of Paul's  bows from about 1998, very similar to the one shown.  They are good shooters.  Paul was an exhibitor at one of the early Traditional Expos hosted by Great Northern before thy moved to Kalamazoo.  I didn't realize he was still making bows.  The contact info I have for him is out of date so I can't help there.

That's definately one of Paul's bows. He doesn't build them anymore, and seems to have moved on to other ventures in his life. I haven't seen him in a couple years, but he was an excellent craftsman. Nice bows, to be sure.
The story Keefer referred to was by our very own "Schlaggerman". It was either about his South Dakota whitetail hunt or his Wisconsin whitetail that he tagged a couple weeks later. That bow was very good to him.
I know there are a few of Paul's bows around yet, but haven't seen any for quite some time.

I like the colors of that bow, don't know any info, though...

that is a fantastic looking bow, and sounds like some good history...

Congrats Charlie... Really neat to "uncover" these craftsman and boyers....

You guys hit the Nail on the head I imagine.

Background,

This bow was at an auction in WI in My old Hometown yesterday along with some bear recurves.

I asked my dad to send me pictures and tell me about it.

He told me it was a Black Ram and I asked him to look again and see if it didn't say Bruin since they are made about 20 minutes from there in WI.

He said, "yep definitely says Bruin, the writing was hard to read over the dark wood".

He gave me the back ground, said a guy had this bow built and then passed. The bow came with a case, stringer, new selway quiver and of course is beautiful as can be.

I told him how much I was willing to spend and he called me saying he got it for me, for less.

when he got home and looked closer, he told me it was a Black Ram and 43 lbs not the 50 lbs like he had thought.  The lighting at the auction house was poor and there were a lot of people in there.

I am still excited about the bow. My father shot it tonight and thinks its pretty darn sweet.  His groups were every consistent with the 4 autumn orange arrows that were with it.

Thanks for all the history on this bow. I think my Father will have to bribe this Bowyer with Packer season tickets to build him another   :readit:

I am looking forward to shooting it, and you guys are right, it does look a lot like the wing slim line. I was stood up on one 2 weeks ago that cost almost as much as I paid for this bow.
