Hi All,

Here is my latest creation of an R/D bow. I named it "Elauwit" which is an Indian (Unami) name for "The Hunter". The bow is 62" long (ntn) and has a pull of 52# @ 28".
The limbs are made of tapered cocobolo under clear glass at both the backing and belly side. The core is made of tapered flooring bamboo. The riser is made of osage and cocobolo split bay a mosaic stripe. The tips are made of G10 micarta with cocobolo overlay. A yellow black flemish string with mink silencers complete the bow. This one I'm gonna use at 3-d animal- or field rounds where only woodies are allowed.
It's a real shooter with a very smooth draw and it fits my hand like a glove without noticeable hand shock when firing arrows.

Left: Strung with woodies. Middle: Unstrung. Right: Some shooting in my backyard at 16 yards.

Very nice indeed!  The handle looks great with the swell above the thumb rest.  Did you do that just because it looks very cool or was there a particular reason?

Madness522:
The reason that I made such a swell is more aesthetical; I like the form and looks.
Some years ago I made a special grip for a take down olympic style recurve bow and made that one with a swell and since then I continued doing that for my R/D bows.

I think it looks good too!  It adds a focal point to draw your eye to the beautiful work you did on the riser.  Keep up the nice work!!
