I took advantage of the "leap year" free shipping special on Feb 29th. My order arrived today!

I learned a few things from this order.
First off, that blue Ferr-l-tite hot melt works great with carbons. They take a real hard hit and still haven't worked loose. Second, those 50 grain brass weights that srew into the back of standard aluminum inserts work great! One dab of Gorilla glue and it becomes one with the insert. Now there's no need to match the o.d. of the shaft with the brass insert.

Just had to share. I had lots of fun doing some off-season experimenting today.

I had been looking at those. I use the Gorilla glue to put my inserts in. I wanted to order something with the free shipping and forgot to put my order in

That Blue glue is the best. A little heat on a field tip and it comes right out but holds fast when not heated. Great for carbon arrows.

I used the Ferr-L-tite in the beginning and lost many inserts w/brass weights! I think it's no-good for carbons! jmho. Thanks.

kenny you might be refering to the gold ferr-l-tite for wood arrows.  Bohning has a new formulation for carbons that is blue and it works way better.  dino
