Does amyone sell a swagged aluminum shaft? Shot some a few years ago...really liked them

Mike's Archery out of Ironton, OH.
I don't know if they still deal in them, but that is where I always used to get mine when I shot aluminum.

Night Wing

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Easton Legacy aluminum shafts/arrows have a swaged end.

If so, then many dealers of trad equipment should be carrying them.

There was a good thread on this topic a week ago. Do a search. Swaged shafts are good stuff.

I think Lost Nation Archery still handles them.

Whatever happened to R J Archery in Montana? That's where I used to get mine. They were good people. (nut)  :dunno:

Question from a woodie shooter......what is 'swagging'?

JimB

Bjorn, they swage the end of the alumium tube into a 5 degree taper, rather than installing a seperate taper.

I called The Footed Shaft today and they do them for $1.00 an arrow.  The legacy arrows has a tapered nock end but it won't accept a broadhead.

Shinken

There used to be 5 degree swaged arrows available that were made through two different processes:  1) hammered swage and 2) spin swage.  The hammered swage process produced a stronger connection than what is produced with the spin swage process.

R J Archery, mentioned above, is where I bought all of my hammer swaged 2219s and 2216s in my early years of archery hunting, but I do not know what the current status is with R J Archery.

Good luck with your search!

Shoot straight, Shinken
