I'm torn between two products from KME..... the knife sharpening system or the broadhead system.

I like the versatility of the knife system, but my question is... can it do the grunt work that is needed to sharpen a reluctant head like a Grizzly??

I have both systems but prefer the BH sharpner as I hone on 3M Wet Or Dry. However, the knife sharpner will tackle the Grizzly's as well. I checked to see if there was any ferrule interference and there was none. I am refering to the new batch of Grizzlys.

If you are ordering the knife jig that comes with stones, I would highly recommend that you also buy the Xtra Coarse Aluminium Oxide stones from Ron.

It is more or less the same colour as the Coarse Aluminium Oxide stone (brown). However, you can tell the difference by feel or you could mark the sides of each stone as shown in the pic.

Thanks for all the info....

Dodger, thank you for the recommendation on the Xtra course stone.

My decision is made, im ordering the knife system  :)

Not a place like tradgang anywhere, its nice to find all these people with the same passions.

My pleasure, Ross.

Just so there is no confusion, the knife kit comes with an Xtra Coarse Silicon Carbide stone (grey in colour and not shown in the above pic). What I am recommending is an Xtra Coarse Aluminium Oxide stone as well. This is extra.

Two other stones you may want to consider are a DMT coarse diamond stone to work on really dull edges or for re-profiling an edge (use VERY light strokes). The other stone could either be a Black Hard Arkansas stone (about 3000 grit) or a Translucent Hard Arkansas stone. Ron does not think these are really necessary but some people like a more polished edge. Infact you will have an excellent edge after honing with the medium aluminium oxide stone and do not really need to use the fine, white coloured, hard Arkansas stone that comes with the kit.

You'll be pleased to see if you haven't gotten them already that the new Grizzlies aren't that reluctant.  They touch up relativly quickly.
