Heartshot, I shoot a 55# recurve that I draw to 29.5 inches. I shoot full metal jacket 400 spine high power arrows full length with the 75 grain brass hidden inserts a 125 grain tip and 5" shield cut feathers. They are around 550 gfains total weight and they fly great.

I shoot both 340 and 400 spine out of my low 50's draw recures.  I usually use the 340 with my 200 grain plus broadheads.

I shoot Axis 400's out of my 50# longbow w/ 225gr. up front, they fly great..... DB

My FMJ's are 31 1/4" to BOP and with 300 grain points and out of my 50# @ 30" ACS recurve require the .300 (300) deflection spine shafts.  Long shafts with heavy points out of stout bows require stiff spines.  With a 29" draw and a 30" shaft you'd need the 340's with 200 grain points up front.  Less shaft spine with your setup will require lighter points.

JJB2

I shoot a 55# @ 28" zipper sxt with the carbon and foam limbs.  I draw roughly 29.5" so I'm probably shooting right around 58-59#. I'm shooting 31.25" (throat of nock to end of shaft) mfx's with 300 grn up front (100 grn insert and 200 grn head).  They bare shaft perfect.  The mfx's seem to run a little stiffer than the fmj's.  My 400 fmj's are a little shorter and bare shaft great.

You won't need 340's or 300's.  I shot 29.5" 340's with 225 up front out of my 65# compound.  Way too stiff for your set-up.

I'm having the same issue. 30" draw on a 55# bow at 28" so probably around 60# total draw weight. I was told on a different thread to shoot 600gr total weight and most people said use the 340 mfx (didn't ask about the fmj). Said have around 300gr total up front so I'm wondering if I should go with the 400s just so I don't get too heavy of an arrow.

Using Stu's and making a couple of assumptions:
(Assumptions, Generic Perf. Recurve, cut 1/8" past center after adding back shelf pad.

Light Arrow (too light)
400 Sping, 30" arrow, 100 grain point, alum. insert, 3, 5" feathers -- 438 grain arrow. (7.5GPP)

Heavier Arrow
340 Spine, 30" arrow, 125 grain point, 50 grain brass insert,, 531 grain arrow with 9.1 GPP.
