Hope to finish this up in the next few days. All braintanned and smoked. Osage stiffner with Coralsnake skin, little turquoise inlay on end.
Salmon vertabrae and old padre beads. Still embellishing. This is the first otter I've done fur in, like Ishi's. Been working on knives as well, Wolf and Puma bone handled.

Pretty cool, is that a real coral snake skin?
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Man, is that neat looking! Very nice knives too! Have to ask, what is "brain tanning"?
That which doesn't kill me, will make me stronger!

That is good looking. I wish I had that kind of talent for quiver building. I really like the torquoise inlay. Very nice.

Thanks again everyone. I will get some finished pic's up soon.
Anyone wanting to learn about braintanning should visit the leather / hides forum on paleoplanet website. Braintanning can be done hair on or off and produces the finest hide.
The salmon vertabrae beads can be made from most any fish vertabrae. Just boil to get fairly clean then hang them out to dry.
