Anyone use 2blade heads for turkeys if so what ones,how do they preform for you?I know its shot placement.

I don't use them but plenty of turkeys have been killed with 2 blades. If I was going to use a 2 blade. I would use one of the Simmons heads.

lots of turkeys have been takin with 2 blades. for myself i use a big wide three blade. like the snuffer. if i were to use a 2 blade it also would be a big wide cutter. turkeys are very light boned. its really just a personal preff. just make sure they are sharp and fly straight. good luck  

Ishot one with a two blade Magnus several years ago.It was a good hit but I had to chase that turkefor a while.Since then I have used Woodsman's and they work great.Lots of damage they dont go anywhere.

Magnus, Zwickeys, any sharp 2 blade outta do the trick if it's in the right spot. All my turkeys have been taken with 2 blade heads.

I have shot two in the last two years with Simmons Land sharks. Both in the wing butt and one dropped in it's tracks and the other went about twenty yards. I have also killed them with Magnus and Bear razor heads with no inserts. The Simmons really take them down. This year I am going to hunt with the Tree Sharks.

On Jim Neaves new WILD TRADITION DVD  there are a bunch of turkey kills with 2-blade broadheads....

required depth of penetration for a pass thru.

My son and I have both killed turkeys with STOS heads and neither bird made it more than a couple feet.  Like anything else it's where you put it that counts.

I've never had a problem with two-blade heads and turkeys -- in one side, out the other, dead bird. But there are many valid reasons to use big multiblade heads too. In the end, use whatever gives you the most confidence and put it where it belongs.

3 last year with grizzlies.

Two last year with simmons treeshark. (most effective).  Second was with vpa terminator 200gr.  I will never shoot this head again.  Shot placement was good, but it took a chase and four more arrows to put him down.  I was shocked at how little I had missed the spine by.  Had I had the big 2" simmons, bird would have never moved.  That's turkey huntng with a bow.

This year it will be big jim big 3, Simmons treeshark, and Abowyer Whitetail.

Zwickey Delta worked just fine for me.







It wasn't a pass through, but it severed the leg/thigh joint, split the breastbone, and stuck into the wing on the far side. He flopped through some brush and knocked the arrow out. He expired about 25 yards from where I shot him.

The Delta did it's job. I'll use them again.

Don Thomas has killed tons of birds with Magnus 2blades and still does. A bad shot is a bad shot with any head.

I had the same thought when I read this thread.      

I'll be using VPA 175 grain 2 blades for gobblers this year.

i've used small two-blade Magnus and Zwickey eskimos.  Seemed to work about equally well and just as well as a 3-blade bodkin.  Bodkin cut a bigger hole, but no exit hole.  Got pass throughs with the two blades. Don't really think it makes much difference though.  Any sharp head in the right place will do the job.

The reason I'm leaning toward the three blade again this year has more to do with the fact that it cuts a bigger hole in the screening in my blind window for my fletching to go through.  With small two blade heads, I have had the fletching deflect the arrow a bit and cause bad arrow flight.

I agree,It's the shot placement.Shot one last year with a Big steel force sabertooth and it went maybe 20yards! I shot one in montana with a Big snuffer 3 blade,not so good a shot placement,and it went over 75-100 yds before cashing in the chips!

I shot 2 with Zwickey deltas and one with a 200 grain Grizzly, all pass through and all had great blood trails with less than 10-15 yard recovery.    

Yep Don has killed a ton of birds with a 2 blade. I use my same setup I would for whitetails. To me accuracy is key. With all the good broadheads out there now a days it just comes down to a personal preference for most game animals.
