Saw the chisel tip Muzzy's in a 3Rivers catalog.  I used these with my compound but never thought of them for trad.  Who has used them (not Phantoms) and what do you think?

Thx!

For my 2212 arrow setup, I use a 3 blade Muzzy 75 grain broadhead. I like the three blades and this broadhead is only 1" wide. Makes a good blood trail for my light poundage recurves.

I know several guys that use the 3 blades, 100 and 125 gr. They used to make the same in 145 but I have not seen them for a bit.One friend killed a big 10 pt. in Iowa with a 40# Wapiti and had a complete pass thru at 15 yards. For that type of broadhead.....one of the best! Thunderheads are the other one!!

I have seen Fred Eichler's brother in law take everything from bear to moose to whitetails with the Muzzy head with the trocar tip, on the Muzzy tv show. And all with a recurve. This head will definately do what it is designed to do with trad. equipment, kill animals!

There has been several threads similar to this in the past couple years here.I've used the 125 gr. three blade muzzy for several years now. They are great broadheads.I've never had a problem with penatration on any of the deer i've killed with them.I shoot bow's in the high 40#'s to the low 50# range. And they do everything any other broadhead will do.Plus i've yet to have broadhead that offers such consistantly good flight.

John Musacchia, the inventor of the Muzzy with the trocar chisel tip, was a recurve shooter himself.

Muzzy makes one of the strongest replaceable blade heads out there. The trocar tip design dates back as far as the 19th centry, once used to pierce body armor.

I used 3 and 4 blade muzzy's for many years and took a bunch a game with them. For trad equipment I perfer a cut on contact that I can field sharpen when they quiver dull or after practice. Just my 2 cents.

Glue on adapters and then screw them in......will give a bit more weight up front also. 3-Rivers sells them!
