Killy.... I'm with Catskill Longbow. Being a man has nothing to do with being human.

The only time i ever wear an armguard is when I have bulky clothes on my arms. When in short sleeves the string never hits my arm.

It could mean you are doing something right!

I don't wear an arm guard either and hardly ever hit my arm.  Its the way i bend my arm when i shoot.

I will say though, Killy is family and has been around a long time.  Careful what you say about family.  Dats right, I got your back Kathy.

Mike, your arm guard is the only one I wear. I have several pretty hand made ones but yours is my go to guard.
I don't hit my arm very often but if I do and I don't have a guard on, as soon as the swelling starts it brings that spot right in line with my string every time   :scared:  Safer with an arm guard.
Ken, you should check out one of Mikes guards.

I wear an arm guard all the time just in case I do hit my arm it won't leave me sore for days.

Kirk, I like your idea with the wife's half stocking. Wouldn't help much on bare arms though!!  :biglaugh:
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

I have a nice Steve Catts armguard I bought at Denton a few years back. I have not worn it in a long time due to the fact that I don't hit my arm. I sure do remember the welts from the wheelbow though.

Jack, no worries about Killy bashing-all in jest! I know better than to start knocking someone with her clout!

I rarely hit my arm....that being said I always use an arm guard so I never hit my clothes or my arm. I have worn one since 1967 when I always hit my arm, and will wear one this afternoon when I shoot a few! Just a habit I guess!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Depends on the type of bow.  RD or recurve I never wore one unless I had bulky sleves.  Straight with a low BH and I have to wear one so I don't get stung.

If you are wearing them just for looks maybe one for the spring arm also how about chin gaurds you can look like a hockey player

Killdeer

No chin guards for me. I just knocked out a couple of teeth for the hockey look. My husband, Mockingbird, has a little KHB from Elk Ridge that he is fond of. That bow will make me run for the arm guard. Mockingbird is a real man, though. He shot with me last weekend and never went into his quiver for the guard.

His bruises are awesome works of swirling, ever-changing colors that will evolve for over a week. Van Gogh could never dream such. Maybe Timothy Leary could. I think that the welts are a rite of passage, something we all go through and share. They bind us together into a special little community, kinda like ritual scarring of warrior societies. OK, maybe not.     ;)

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
