Anybody ever use these?

Even if you haven't, I would be interested in your thoughts on safety and your thoughts of these instead of climbing sticks for loc-on setup after you watch the videos.  Seems to me WITH A LITTLE PRACTICE they would be great.  Probably a tad lighter than lone wolf sticks

I picked up a set a while back. Work well with a little practice. Rock solid and a nice wide platorm compared to steps. They do chew up the bark some. If you decide to go with them I don't use mine anymore so....

awbowman

PM send PV.  Why don't you use them anymore?

I had some, still have a few. I used them all the time for a couple of years. Bought the Lone Wolf sticks and quit using the Stepps. They are not bad to use and with practice are pretty quick to set up and take down. I sometimes still use one or two with the Sticks  to gain a little extra height if needed.

Jim's a super guy..Nam Vet.Lost a leg and needed something he could stand on with ONE good leg to install another step.

I passed cause you have to tie them...besides being sharpening impaired (before KME) I am also Knott Challenged! I couldn't convince myself I'd tie a good knot in the dark and not end up doing a Peter Pan immitation!

Interseptor

I emailed Mr Stepp two weeks ago and got an interresting response.  You can still get them but you have to attach the ropes the steps yourself and you have to sign a waiver before he will sell them to you.  At one time, LL Bean had picked them up but its not the case now.

I just ordered a set look like just the ticket to me. Mr. Stepp has been using them for 20 years. You do have to install the ropes its very easy. Yes you do have to sign a waiver but if you watch the videos there bomb proof. I will let know how they work after i get a chance to test them. TD.

I have some coming and will more than likely get more.

I'd also like to have Jim's email.  I lost one from my set.  Left it under a tree after dark I guess.

I've had a set for years and have found nothing I like better for really gnarly trees.  I've started using the rapid rails because they are quicker but honestly, I think the rails are a bit of a pin to maneuver quietly while hanging off the side of the tree.  The Stepps can be handled and installed completely in front of your face or chest while standing comfortably on two feet at the same level.

The other big plus about them is the color.  there isn't another step, ladder or rail made that blends in better on the tree.

Here's a typical setup photo.  Notice the lack of black web straps.  I HATE THOSE THINGS!

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

americanhunter7

I was looking for some of these to go with a Guido web as a top extra step/platform, may I ask what the cost of a set is, and how many stepps per set?
