Raging Water

I had the pleasure of shooting this bow for only about 30 minutes, total. Rain and work just kept me from shooting. But, I have had it for 5 days and it needs to move on, much to my regret.

1)   Really enjoyed the weight of the bow. The mass of the riser is just right.

2)   Love, and I mean LOVE, the grip. It was perfect for me. I really like the thumb rest position and the "finger groove" which is just a recessed area, was spot on. I could hold the bow with an open grip or closed grip, it did not matter. Right now, I wish every recurve riser I have would have this grip.

3)   Very nice sight window and the arrow rest was cut just right to accept different spined arrows. Same test as with the Rainy Day bow. I just grabbed a mixed batch of arrows, woodies and carbons, and let them fly.

4)   Speed and Accuracy: 10 gpp arrows flew very quickly and with great flat cast. The 12 or more gpp arrows had a nice arc but not nearly as much as I would have thought.

Here is a picture from this morning. I grabbed 5 arrows and went outside. (snuck out the door on Mother's Day, just to shoot for 10 minutes).
I was at 18 yards, no warm up – nope, nada, none – and here was the group of 5. After that, I was so happy, I went inside.

My review:

I am more than impressed with this bow. And, if that riser would accept a 70# limb, I'd be all over it. Great Bow!!!!!

You got gipped by all the rain Matt. Maybe that bow will make a u-turn at some point and head back your way. I wish I could shoot 70 pounds. I would have to lay on my back and use my feet to get something like that back. And then, only maybe could I get it back. But, for just 10 minutes that's pretty darn good shooting. That grip sure is something isn't it? Good post buddy.  :)

Actually, I misspoke. That pattern was from 18 yards, no warm up. It was the first 5 arrows. I was happy with that and called it a morning.

Shipping out on Tuesday, to the next lucky guy.

Again, that riser grip is perfect for me. And, the whole bow is beautiful.

Nice work.

Matt, I have Mikes first longbow and I shoot 60lbs. The arrows zip out of this bow. The 60lb pull seems light compared to most 50lb recurves I have shot. I could only imagine what a 70+ lb would do. I know one thing, I would hear Mike grunting all the way from my house if he had to test drive a 70+lb bow----it might pull his shoulder out of socket haha. Mike----dont worry I will test drive it for you---I got your back.  :D

The way an arrow flew out of the bow at 41#'s...I couldn't imagine what one would do in Matt's weight range! It might end up landing in the gulf of mexico after blasting through his target.
Show me your ways, LORD,teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me,for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Finally got around to shooting the bow yesterday. It is one great bow. I really like the weight or shall I say the weightlessness of the bow. It was very surprising. It shot like a dream. Very easy to be accurate with this bow. I have one problem, my fiancé shot it and now I have to buy her one. It is a great bow all the way around.

Looking at the leader board at the Western States Trad shoot last weekend, Mikes bows to my knowledge got first and second place in the mens longbow division, first in the youth recurve, and first in the womens recurve division. I know the shooter has a lot to do with it, but I think it speaks highly of the quality of the bow Mike puts out. Thanks for the excellent product.

RainyDayBows

Congratulations to the legends team at the western states trad shoot good shooting and a good bow.

curlis

Ben,
Were you in the lead or did you let Mike get you again? LOL
Pick a spot and concentrate!

rxhntr

Curlis, you know I pulled that one off. Missed shooting with ya. You have to go to one of those Petaluma shoots--the course is fantastic.
