Good Release = More Finger Pain?

Just wondering,

Seems like the better my release and when I'm really nailing where I'm looking, I get a nice sting on my finger tips at the shot.

This isn't a question about pain, calluses, or any of that, because it isn't painful or a problem.

Just wondering, I suppose a cleaner release is causing the string to slap the tip of the release, instead of a jerky or forced release where you open the hand and get no slip off the fingers.

Anybody else notice the same thing, or want to tell me I'm lost at sea?

Never had that problem before. But if i don't shoot a bunch for a while my fingers get tender.so i try to shoot at least 30-40 arrows 4 to 5 days a week. Some days i shoot double that amount. But i do find i shoot better consentrate on a clean release.Hope this helps some.

A cleaner release should be easier on the fingers.

Just the opposite for me.  Hardly feel a clean release.  Can get some stinging if I pluck.  Only time the fingers might begin to hurt is if I do an awful lot of shooting.

Are you holding the string on your finger tips to start?  I certainly feel the effects of the string more when I do that compared to taking a deep hook on the string. Used to think that gave a cleaner release.  It doesn't.  Requires too much tension in the fingers/hand compared to a deep hook.

Use a tab and hold with first joint.  It strikes the tip of the ring finger the most.  By my thinking as I put more tension and pulled through the shot it was slipping off the ring finger.  But I think I put too much pressure on that finger.

Sounds like I need to read up and keep on plugging on my release.

Thanks.
