Do tip-overlays effect bow performance in any way?

I think they could as any weight you have to move takes energy.  Also on a hill they are different lengths on top and bottom.  Therefore I ordered mine without.

In theory, yes they affect performance because of the additional weight.  In practice I doubt you would be able to tell the difference.

Cyclic-Rivers

Yes they do. But only on Hill bows.   :readit:

hope you sense the sarcasm here.   ;)

The extra weight may rob you of a very very small percentage of energy however the gain of being able to use fast flight with tip overlays increases performance tremendously.

It's nice to be able to use FF stings.  On the aesthetic side tip overlays are one of the things I look at.  A well done tip really makes for a nice looking limb.  The tip overlays on my Dale Dye recurve are the best I've seen.

Edit:  Just saw you are looking at longbows...oh well.
