Has anyone used Krylon Matte finish out of a spray can to put a dull finish on their bow? I have a BW PCHX that shines too much for me. I steel wooled it but it didn't help much. Would this be compatible with the Black Widow finish? I'm also gonna put snake skins on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I used it and it worked fine. The product is not completely waterproof; but as an overspray it does not matter that much anyway.

I have used Krylon Matte Finish a bunch. I have completely refinished bows with it, as well as put it on as a finish coat after applying skins to a bow (I applied several coats of Tru-Oil to the skins first.

I think this stuff is as good as it gets in a rattle can!

Try Deft satin .....dries quick and is pretty tough!

How are you all putting it on (light like over spray or heavy like paint)?I used it on some decoys I carved and it was the shinyiest stuff I ever saw.Could have painted them chrome and the wouldn't have shined that much.

You can by camo spray paint that has no shine and it will go over most top coats. I use it on all my tree stands, duck guns and dear.

On the final coat that I'm doing with this stuff, I just mist it over the bow. It should turn out a nice matte finish. As a matter of fact, I have spot repaired a few bows, and this Krylon was almost a perfect match to the finish the bowyer had used.
