In South Carolina, it is legal to hunt hogs at night with a light.  Not that I plan on spending many nights in the swamp but they sure do like coming in and moving around at dark.  I was planning on picking up a metal ILF riser with a stabilizer insert except I dearly love simple little longbows.  Plus I seem to have my share of extra bow lying around the house.  So I decided to do a little carpentry work...drilling in a stabilizer insert & dropping some weight off an older GN Critter Getter 56" now 50#@28.  Then I added my Eagle's Flight 3 arrow quiver and a bow mount mini-sniper high intensity red light by Sniper Hog Lights.  It has a finger switch you can mount to your handle.  Very bright and good lighting easily to 20-25 yards.  Should be fun...tippit

Nice set-up Jeff.  The big ones do seem to show up after dark.  Good luck

Really cool set up. How "easy" is the on / off switch to manipulate?

Would love to see it in action!

Bill,
I PM'd Benjy.  I hope he doesn't have the drill out with that new Zipper  :scared:

John,
The on/off switch are two buttons that you just push in.  Mounted on the front side of the riser with a little Velcro.  One button is high intensity the other lower light.  If you touch the button the light comes on . If you push it in the light stays on.  Very easy and do it while getting ready to shoot.  The red light doesn't seem to scare the game off.

I did the same with one of mine for The hogs and gators here in Florida.  Good luck on your hunt.

Have you shot with it much?

I just set up a couple of those and we played with them last week. it took me awhile to get used to focusing on your spot instead of centering things up on the light circle.

i shot better at 20-25 yards than 10-15 yards right at first.  kirk

Kisk,
The light is mostly a flood so it illuminates a good area instead of a spot.  It doesn't seem to effect my shooting at 15 yards and I won't be set up much further away at night.

I can shoot my 3d course during the dark of the moon out to my normal hunting shot distance. 25yds and in. actually  I could shoot out to about 40 yds with the mini sniper and do so with my unmentionable bow.

Don't know how I missed this   :bigsmyl:  Bill could you please add a stabilizer hole to my new bow? Just kidding!

I actually like to get them so close that I only need a match to light them up and besides after they finished eating the corn mixed with the disel fuel the match will work to light up the blood trail also!

See this thread if you are wondering what I'm talking about   :D

Hey Jeff

Would that light work with a GN adapter ? That would be neat to try?

Where did you get your light at?
