I cant wait for spring bear season to get here. I am shooting a new bow this year. A cari-bow wolverine 62# at my draw 28" with a heavy CX heritage 350 820 gr arrow and it is shooting good...... I have started shooting for at lease 15 minuts  a day now. and have been looking over maps and old notes wondering what the snows going to be like. I know where there are a few dens and cant wait for the first walk in to see what the bears are doing that is if any bears choose to den in them this year. I am not sure why but spring bear is my favoret season I think if I had to choose just one season to hunt that this would be it..... who else is gearing up waiting for the day?

Lets see some bear pictures and some pictures of some successful hunters. I will start with some pictures but they are
not the best......

I was going to go to Manitoba this year with Stickflinger until I found out he was booked up to 2013 or beyond.  So, I contracted with another guide in the inter lakes region. Was going to drive up and share expenses with someone, but no one I know wanted to go, so am flying up by myself.

I'm really excited 'cause this is my very first bear hunt. Don't exactly know what to expect so I will be paying close attention to this thread to see what y'all have to say about it and maybe pick up some great tips from you experienced bear hunters.

Put me in coach! ... I'm ready!!

I will have about half of May and the first week if June off work to chase up a big boar. I've been stocking up on bait and one of these days I'll need to make a couple more suckers. I've been chasing a 7'+ color phase for the last two years, maybe this is the year.

TURKEYFOOTGIRL

Will b spot and stalk hunting Mt where I live and doing a doit yourself bait hunt with friends in Idaho.  Cant wait.  one of these days I will hopefully call in a bear too!!

I'll be looking for that wide pawed, worn pad, creased headed, scarred muzzle, broken yellow toothed, dinosaur neck, barrel chested, thick black furred boar that just yawned and stretched under five feet of snow. LOL
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Unless my Dad draws, not for me this year, had to get rid of the pick up and the wife says I can't haul bait in the car  :(  Gentry that looks like a great time spot and stalk up there in MT. Good luck guys!! I love huntin bear  :)

I'll be flying up to Winnipeg for my first bear hunt. Was wondering about taking my 3 piece Bob Lee take-down bow in checked luggage on the plane. I could put it in a seperate case with arrows, or pack it in my big suitcase in the middle of heavy camos so it would have lots of padding.

Anybody with experience in flying up to Canada and checking their bows got any thoughts about this? Does anyone mail stuff up to the outfitter ahead of time?
