Am I missing something up here in Canada? The weather forecast I'm looking at calls for a chance of rain Friday and Saturday but total accumulation is zero....

I just wanna make sure I've got an accurate picture to make travel plans around.....

Rossco,  Maybe it is because rain doesn't accumulate???  I've only seen that word in referrence to how many inches of snow is on the ground.  Rainfall is measured in inches, but there would be 0 accumulation.

It has been raining a lot down there, the river is flooding, and the forecast I'm looking at says potential for heavy rainfall on Friday.  Click here:   forecast

If you look at the weather maps, the entire region looks like it will have rain.  I'm not trying to dissuade anyone else from going.  I'm just not prepared to hunt in the rain; for many others it is no big deal.

Blaino, im with you brother, ive planned and waited to long to bail ( no pun intended) out now. I figure worst case scenario, if it gets to bad to hunt ill set under the awning, play some music, drink a couple cold ones and enjoy some good fellowship, with those who come, till things break a bit.
Last time i cancelled an outing due to a horrible forecast, i found out from others that went that it never rained a drop, think ill gamble and go for it.
Im pulling out at 4 AM in the morning, hope to see you all there. Take care on the roads friends.

Aye Rossco and Paul,

Thanks to a few late season storms sweeping across the US the rain will come...Up further in the northern regions more snow! Good thing that we are experiencing "Global Warming" or we might get snow in GA instead...(((LOL)))!!!   :biglaugh:

@hawken1911 - that site paints a slightly grimmer picture than the one I was using. I double checked and it says 0 inches of rain Friday / Saturday during daylight. Most of the precipitation seems to be at night.

Sure you don't wanna change your mind? ;-) lol

I'm going regardless," it can't be worse than a late December deer hunt up here"  is what I keep saying to my self.....

I just finished packing too and am en route from Ontario tomorrow morning.

Would anyone happen to be bringing a spare string for a 68 inch 65@28 bow? I ordered one from HHA but it looks like it won't be here in time....

Keep reading this thread and wishing I had a Hill bow.  Hopefully next year.
My oldest daughter and I will be down at Oaky Woods this weekend.  If any of you are over on Oaky and see a white Silverado with Virginia tags stop and say hello.
Always looking out for other T'G'ers.

I just got back from taking a load of firewood and a fat lighter stump to area 2 campground ..I got to meet knawbone and napper. Knawbone has a nice camp set up already. He got on hogs this afternoon and had a vine jump in front of his arrow that caused him to miss! You guys and girls have fun!

Hi Ken,  if you need a Hill style bow for the hunt come by and pick one up from me.  I have 3 (2 Hills and a 7 Lakes between 48 and 54#s at 28.  I know you are a lefty so let me know?

Darren, unfortunately, it looks like I will not be able to attend  due to a health issue.  Hope to be able to make the next one wherever it takes place.  Good luck to all and I look forward to the stories and pictures.

I too have (2) XXL Tee shirts, so just give them to threeunder (Ken Adkins) if he makes it to camp, or to anyone else who would like one and didn't get a chance to order one.  Thanks and have a safe and fun hunt!   -Mac
