Depending on where near Brisbane you are going it should be close to the roar & the stags will be starting to move around a bit.The roar generally starts with the first major change in the weather around Easter .Hopefully there will be a nice early frost or temperature drop around this time  & you will be able to hear the stags roaring up on the ridges & in the gullies. It's a nice time of year. I will be away camping with the family at Easter but I would love to be out there as well. What suburb in Brisbane does your sister live in?

Good luck and have a great hunt Bisch!!! Looking forward to a full report upon your return!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Thanks everyone! I can't wait. This should be a real hoot.

Lyonel, I'm not sure which suburb but I am pretty sure she will be right in the middle of the city somewhere as she does not even have a car. She just moved there within the last week and I am waiting for her to get settled in a bit before I start barraging her with stuff that I need.

Do you know what town or area you will be hunting in? Most of the Red Deer areas are only a few hours from Brisbane.

Mick said it was about 2-3 hours from Brisbane and I think it said something about Mary Valley on his website.

Good luck!  Can't wait for the stories!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

You will probably be around Imbil or Kandanga. They see the occasional Russa Deer around that area also. Nice country you will enjoy yourself.
