This broadhead always draws my attention when I look at it. Seems like it would be a good penetrating head for lower poundage bows..40 to 45lbs or so.

I was wondering if anybody has any experience with it on deer and how it shoots.

Haven't shot the 165 Express but I have taken a bunch of game with the ACE heads.. currently I'm shooting the STD 160 and the 200 grain Express... both work very well out of my 46-50 lb bows at just a tad under 28"

Thats my goto head right now(6yrs). I shoot heavier weights than you list but it will make a big hole in the rib of a deer. They sharpen easy and are pretty tuff from my results. I have never had anything go wrong with an ACE product. They mount easy and spin true.
This is not the best picture but it shows the results of a sharp ACE Express going thru the lungs. Blood trail was easy to follow as well.

They are affordable to.  

It's an excellent broadhead. It has a straight blade instead of a curved blade. Easy to sharpen.

There have been Ace Express on my arrows for many seasons.  Great broadhead IMO.  I shoot them from 50 lb but a short draw; wouldn't think 45 would cause any issues.  They are 1 3/8 inch wide, sharpen well and hold their edge.

Thanks for all the good info. I'm going to get some and give them a try. I got a new bow coming in a few months from Kirk at Big Foot, a 45lb Sasquatch T/D Recurve 64". I draw 29" and I forget to ask him if my bow will finish 45lbs at 29" or 45lbs at 28". Either way I'm sure it will have enough poundage for full penetration with the Ace Express.

Hoyt, when you get your Bigfoot and if you live somewhere close to Springfield I would love to see the bow and maybe shoot it. I have talked to Kirk quit a bit about bows. Flint

See 2-traks & Javi above. Great heads & all I use now (160gr & 200gr) w/my heavier lb's.

Haven't shot THAT one, but I love Ace heads, esp for the money.  If you slam one real hard onto solid rock, it will curl, but so will any other head.  With the Aces, you aren't out 25 or 50 bucks when that happens.
