I would like some input on this, if ya don't mind, please. I'll be huntin in the White River Refuge, south unit.
Now that we've exhausted all possibilities, lets get started.

NW, I hunt with a buddy that is a member of Mozart Hunting Club. It's north line is the boundary of the south unit on the east side of the river. The rut seems to be at it's best from Thanksgiving through the first couple of weeks of December. Very good deer hunting. It looks like were gonna have red oak's this year. The refuge is big, but find a couple of good feed trees and your in business. What campsite are you planning on using? If you hunt early don't forget your thermocell or you want be there long.

Ag-pilot is pretty much right on.  I have killed more deer Thanksgiving weekend then any other time of the year.  That seems to be when they really start rutting hard and they seem to rut for a couple of weeks.  Something else to think about, by then they will have started to flood parts of the south unit along B levee.  It's not a whole lot of ground, but there will be some water around.  Let me know where you decide to camp.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the info.
I have no idea about camping yet, as I have'nt been there to look. Suggestions would be nice.

Are you camping with a tent or will you have a trailer??  If you have a boat, I might know of a place that you could stay.

NW

Thanks Kevin, I'm not sure yet. I can have a boat if need be.

NW.....There are no hogs to speak of.  I have never seen any and I don't know of anyone that has either.  You are alot more likely to see a bear than a hog, in my opinion.  I hear that there is a growing number of hogs on Trusten holder WMA, which is really just across the canal from the South unit.  There is turkey hunting on the South unit.  There is not a huge flock or anything, but there are turkeys there.  I have killed a few over the years, and a buddy has killed 3 in the past 2 year down there.  There is alot of pressure on turkeys in the spring, so you got to know how to get away from people.

Featherbuster

i agree, no hogs and lots of pressure during turkey season.   but the deer are well worth it
