Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I shoot a DAS but like the Widow better than Lee.I don't like the Lee thicker grip. You can get a used Widow as cheap as a new Lee and it will hold it's value. The Lee is a nice bow though. You need to try both and decide.

Jwilliam

Black Widow PSA III. Just because I shoot it better then any other recurve.

kinda like RH CLARK.. I have owned both, the Lee had a riser break at the throat, but Rob replaced it very quickly , both companies have Excellent customer service. I think a Widow is very hard to beat in value and quality. Plus I have been able to get my widows quieter than I could my lee, I shoot widow now, they are good solid bows that are dang near bullit proof, not the fastest but very stable.

The Quest, don't bother with asking the question. You will find it only yourself. It will really cost you, if you chase it new. And don't know when to _ _ _ _,stop. Even shooting at trad events all the differant bows available. Will leave your wallet empty.

I have 5 favorites, still looking for 6

And the Quest rolls on.

I'd go with the Lee-if you choose the widow, go used or try before you buy. Personally I feel the widow is over-rated and the lee under-rated in performance. If you want a fast widow, I would look at habu as I feel they are a significnat step up from the widow.

Two Arrows

Different strokes for different folks here. Both are great bows. You will find different things you like and don't like about each bow, so you gotta try them both and make up your own mind.

I may be completely wrong, but this is what I think; the most important thing with a bow (to me) is how comfortable it feels in hand, the drawing characteristics of it, the overall physical weight of the bow, and how quiet it is. If any of these characteristics don't feel comfortable to you, kick it to the curb and find something else.

I've had both bows. I think the standard grip on the Widow is way too narrow (I was alway fishing around for the sweet spot), if I was to have another one, I would like to have the Asbell grip. The grip on the Lee seemed to have much more positive hand placement.

As far as speed goes, the Widow appeared the be the faster of the two bows, never did run either one through a chrono, but that is what I observed. However, there didn't seem to be enough difference in speed to matter too much.

The last point I observed is quietness. Comparing a three piece takedown with both bow makers, I'd say the Bob Lee was hands down more quiet than the Widow(s) I've had.

Both are great bows. Either one you pick will be a good one. The "best" one will be determined by your personal feel.

Best of luck to you.

This is very simple. One of each. Or maybe two ??
Now that we've exhausted all possibilities, lets get started.

I just sold a Lee to buy a Widow...I will miss the Lee, but don't regret the decision.

You can't go wrong with either bow.

RC

If I had the money to spend on a Widow ,even though they are super bows I would buy a Lee hunter longbow and recurve. You would spend about the same maybe a little more but would have two great bows.RC

If you are buying a T/D than I would buy the Lee, if a one-piece than the Widow TF. Both nice bows, but ya can get two Lees for the price of one Widow and for me the only Widow that performed well was the TF.

Archer Fanatic

I had a BW PSA V and got a Bob Lee Bicentennial Elite t/d and I put a ff string on it, and it preforms just as good as a BW.

donw

i have had two lees and one widow...still have one lee and would not part with it.

i did not like the grip and the way the limbs attach (to the belly) of the BW. i prefer the back mounted limbs a-la-lee/palmer/jeffery/Hoyt GM but it's performance is no doubt among the best.

if i were to consider another widow, it would be one of their one-piece recurves.

tough decision...good luck
i was told by a sales person, when purchasing an out-of-date newpaper that it was out-of-date...

i told her "i've been told i'm out-of-date, too"...

does that mean i'm up-to-date?

Ia Hawkeye

I've shot both  and I prefer Lee. When considering what you get for the money, I like the Lee bows MUCH better!!!!!!
