Some pictures of a hard take down recurve case I made.

I used a dewalt reciprocating saw case, and hard packing foam (blue high density foam) and spray glued in a fleece liner.

To build you have to cut out the cross supports. I spray painted it and then did a camo patern. I found three of these cases at garage sales this summer ($3.00 for all).  They make a great hard case, there tough, have a nice handle and are just a perfect size.

Great job...I gotta find one of those!!

Sweet, great idea. Now all I have to do is hit the right yard sale.

I like it too and I just happen to have a case like that..  Any more pictures of the inside?  I was thinking you must have created space that holds the riser and then the limbs?

I left a space of about an inch on the top and bottom of the case between the form inserts, I was going to cut out space to custum fit each item, but I use for 3 different bows which are little different.  I did have to to cut out some of the original supports for the case, but since the form goes in it still is strong enough so twisting is not an issue.  I lined with fleece and have excess to wrap each item in as extra support in case shifting occurs, I also make fleece sleeve that the bow components slip into.  This is the only thing I might change in the future.  I will try to get some more pictures on here.

Nice job! I'll have to watch for some of those cases.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

What is that? It could be 1 out of 1000 cases made now days.

Brand, Model #...ect. ect.

Sorry if I missed this but if you don't mind, what are the outside dimensions of the case? What size bow (limbs) can you put in there?

Thanks,
Dave

Tim, Good score on the cases. Great job on recycling, ( saves a lot of bucks).

Looks to make a good case for a T/D bow. Should have room for extras ( strings, tips, etc.) Well done.

Dave, I use this case for my Chek-mate hunter 1 62" and Sage 60" with some room to spare, both are three piece take downs. I don't think this case would work for a to piece take down unless its really short. My limbs are about about 23 and 22 inches respectively.

This case shown is from a Dewalt reciprocating saw, I bought it empty at a garage sale so I'm not sure what model of saw it was and the case does not say anything on it other than DEWALT.

The outside measurements are Height  9 1/2" Width 4 3/4 " and the length 24 1/2 ".
