I posted a thread just before Christmas showing off my new Toelke Lynx longbow.

     http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=111935

I've had the bow for 21 days and have already been fortunate enough to put two late season does in the freezer.  So there I was minding my own business and my cell phone rings       :saywhat:

Just before I got my Lynx longbow I exchanged PM's with Jim Wright and Tater, both of whom are very familiar with Dan's bows.  Both guys know and love "longbows", however both had nothing but praise for Dan's Lynx recurve limbs.  To be honest that's the bow they wanted to talk about.

So here I was taking off my longbow limbs and slipping the recurve limbs on the same riser!  How sweet it that...one riser and a choice of limbs.

Rather then stretch out my thread I'll post some photos and give you the specifics.

Both bows are 50@28.  I draw a tad under 28" making the bows right around 49lbs at my draw. Both are 60" and both are setup to shoot a 495 grain arrow.  Both are whisper quiet, I have wool silencers on the longbow string and rubber silencers on the recurve.  Both Strings are D-10 made by my buddie Allen Shafer. (There's your plug buddy!)

HS Longbow limbs 175 fps
Recurve limbs 182 fps

As I've said before, those numbers may seem fast to some and slow to others.  I know folks like to compare, so there you go.

The recurve limbs are a touch smoother, a little faster and have a slight bit more noise.  Emphasis on slight....these bows are both extremely quiet.

Here's the photos!.....You gotta love the ability to shoot one riser and have the option of both style limbs!  Great job Dan!

Here are a few more photos.  As I've said before I can't say enough about Dan's workmanship, plus he is just incredible to work with.  :notworthy:

Hey Pat....I knew you'd be lurking in the shadows!  Typical bowhunter! LOL....

The photos make the limbs look a little more orange then they really are, indoor photography is not real good.  The longbow limbs have a bit more brown but both sets match up perfect.  Incredible JUNIPER!

Take care buddy!

Just because you are passionate about something, doesn't mean you don't suck at it.

Tim, I knew you would like the recurve side of the Lynx and the fact that both your set-ups are drop-dead gorgeous doesn't hurt. I believe I told you that if I did not enjoy shooting the recurve in 3d competitions I would only own longbows. With that said I will keep the Curlew take-down Dan made me for that purpose but it is my opinion that the Lynx Dan let me shoot awhile last Spring was the finest recurve I have ever had my hands on and I have shot a number of them.
