It was a really nice morning for hunting, about 32 degrees and pretty much calm and quiet, since it was sunday so there was'nt the constant traffic noise from the hyway, so i could hear footsteps in the leaves even with my bad hearing.

i had four deer up on the hill over my right shoulder, dont know how they got so close without me knowing they were there, but when i turned and seen them they were moving away from me, i thought they seen me or winded me, i was a little bummed that i had blown an oprotunity and almost didnt even know it. i settled back for somemore waiting and watching and about 30 minutes later i hear footsteps behind me, i turned to look to quickly and got spotted by a doe, DANGITT!. so i watch as they move off, and turn back around to watch and listen some more, im staring off in the distance and listening when a little noise gets my attention straight off my left shoulder.

its a doe coming out of the cedars with a yearling behind her, i turned and got my bow off the hanger and tried to get turned back around for a shot, im still sitting and dont really like shooting sitting, but no time to stand now so i start my draw and she catches me and turns around ready to head back into the cedars, for some reason i cant come to full draw,(must have been the way i was sitting)so i just tried to pick a spot and shoot with a short draw,i release and she lunges and rolls away to continue on her origanal path, and the yearling bounces back into the cedars, the arrow hits way back and im thinking OH NO!$*^&$#%!
So i put another arrow on the string knowing that the yearling is gonna fallow behind pretty quick.

it was'nt about ten seconds or so when the yearling came out and stopped just before going into the cedars on the other side.
still sitting im at full draw and release, the arrow flies right where it was suposed to but she dropped a little and i spined her and she dropped in her tracks.

you can see her white tail in all of the pics.

those tree sharks make a helluva hole!
so i drag her to the bottm of the hill and gut her and tag her and call to check the deer in.
then went back to pickup the trail of the big doe ,sign was pretty iffy at best, just pinhead size drops of blood and bits of fat until i got about a hundred yds. then it started to get a little better , drops the size of your fingernail and more of them.

i was on her trail for about a hundred forty yds. or so.

and i look up and there she is about fifty yds. ahead of me i grabbed my binoculars to see if she was dead and sure enough she was done.

sorry for the long post but it was a good morning.  :jumper:
