I am trying to decide on a new pack for this year, i had am Eberlestock X2 before and it was a great pack, but everytime i look at BisonGear i just love them. When i was looking at the BG site today i saw they offer a frame attachment, and i was wondering if anyone has attached their BG to a frame before and if so how did it work and do you have any pics. Being in AK and also hunting the west a frame can come in handy while still have a pack you can take off for when you dont need the frame, or just use a frame when you have a critter down, etc. Im still not sure what direction to go in but would love to hear those with BG and frame attachments

thanks

I use the old peak frame from a Dwight schuh style pack and just lash it to the frame, then tent, sleeping bag ,and all other camp stuff on top. The BG only takes up the lower third of my frame. When I get to my camp I drop all the other stuff and have the BG to hunt with, while the meat frame is close by if needed. They can make a pack with frame attachments if you want, paracord works for me though. Plus, I also have the Molle frame and would have to alter the pack if it had the added straps since the holes are not the same. Great system either way.

I have a BisonGear Lemhi with attachments for a Bull-Pac frame. It works great for me. I used the lemhi in Idaho this year elk hunting with the frame for over night trip when carrying tent, bags etc and then used the pack alone for day trips.

I just got a Bison Gear Lost river. Man what I nice looking and feeling pack for a non frame pack.

I've got a Kifaru frame that I plan to try an attach it to but haven't messed with it yet. I'll play with it this weekend and see what happens and let you know.

That is how I pack in all over the west and Alaska, with the BG Elk Hunter on a freiter frame. Then detach the day pack and have one of the quietest packs available. Mike

I know Bison Gear's seamstress here.  She can do anything you want in a new pack or any mod you want on an existing back, within reason.  She's fantastic.

I fill mine up and strap it to my Bullpac frame, then lash other gear on the sides and on top.  My Bisongear Elk Pack is supported perfectly on the pack frame shelf. Once I get where I'm going and set camp I use the BG as a day or bivy pack. Learned the system from my "young buddy" Mike Mitten.
