Here is the beginning of a third season mission. For the last 3 years I have been hunting the late season with some close calls but no meat. I have been waiting for some snow and finally got it. I told my wife I was going out tonight and she just gave me that YOUR CRAZY look. So after a hour or so in the blind with 20 degree temps blowing snow and wind I was thinking she was right. But then I noticed movement. 2 deer were coming! I couldn't believe my luck. With them closing fast I got prepared. Before I knew it the lead doe was giving me a good quartering away angle. I found my anchor and watched my white fletch disappear in her side. After a short 50 yard trail there she was. What a way to end a mission.

Nice job!

I went out this evening and saw nothing. It was about 20 degrees here too, but there was maybe 1/2" of snow on the ground. The wind was perfect. The deer just didn't show up. Still can't think of anything I'd rather have been doing though.
