Mahaska makes a flatbow.  I have never shot one, but a lot of folks on here like them.  I think they are very attractive.

Great Northern bushbow. Not sure if Jerry actually calls it a flatbow. but it's deffiantly not a longbow. Description of bushbow from Great Northern website.....
"The Bushbow is somewhat patterned after the Plains bow of our Native Americans, with a wider and flatter limb measuring 1 1/2" wide at the fadeout and tapering to 9/16" at the string nocks. The deflexed riser is 16" long and measures a sleek 4 3/4" in circumference around the leather handle wrap. The limb tips on the Bushbow have a 4 1/2" power wedge, discreetly inserted within the laminations, which eliminates the need for nock overlays."

Kohannah makes a flatbow too.

Not sure what your criteria is to qualify as a flat bow, but if you are looking for an r/d bow with thin cores and a wide limb don't overlook the Dwyer Defiant.  Dwyer's are a sponsor here, build some great longbows, and are some of the nicest people to deal with you will find.

Definitely talk to Ted Fry at Raptor Archery, not only does he build traditional unbacked and backed flatbows but he's a sponsor here as well.  I checked out his Raptor Signature flatbow last week and it is smooth and beautiful, as good as it looks in the pictures, they don't do it justice.  I don't think it's up on his site yet but there's a thread about it on Powwow called Raptor Archery sneek peek...

When I think glass flatbow the Great Northern Bushbow and Lil' Creep are what come to mind.  A "D" bow with wide, thin limbs.

One of the best were the Rassmusen (Sp) from Idaho. Not sure if they are made any more.

Here are some photo's of some flatbows:

Great Northern Bushbow

Big RIver Flatbow

Mike Yancey Selfbow

Of the three the Great Northern was my favorite.

This design is near ideal as a hunting bow to my way of thinking.

And, the Great Northern bows have a simple elegance combined with great shooting characteristics.

Ive owned 1 Great Northern Bush Bow and show 2 or 3 more,  I liked all of them.  Would like to have another someday.

At one time Steve Turray of Northern Mist made a flat "D" shaped bow, not sure if he still does or not.

J. Oles

Northern Mist Heron!

I think Steve will still make it on request.

Come to think of it I need to order one!
