Hi everyone I have been shooting recurves all my life

Started out with Bears and still own Widows ,Bob lee's ,Fedora's , Silvertips , Brakenbury's etc

This past year I purchased a Hoyt Buffalo . It's a nice bow but did not floor me with its performance

Recently picked up a Bob Lee Bicentenial with the half Phenolic riser . It really shoots great so when I wanted to get into an ILF bow I new I wanted an all Phenolic Riser . Just personal preference since I did not really care for the machined riser of the Buff . Don't get me wrong I like it but not perfect for me a heavy dead in the hand riser helps me shot better

So I called up Bob Morrison today and ordered a 17 inch solid Phenolic riser and here my journey starts into the ILF world .

I am used to shooting some very good customs so I want my jump to ILF to hopefully be a positive move

I have a 27 inch draw and since I am older I like bows in the mid 50 pound range I still keep recurves in the high 60 pound range but feel I shoot better in the mid 50's

So here is my question

For my draw length who makes the best performing limb ? And What Length ?

This will be a hunting bow

Thanks

Bob also makes some fantastic limbs, do a search I think I remember a new release of limbs coming from him, he posted it here and I believe on his website also.

Best limb I have shot is the Border Hex series, not cheap but as good as it gets in my opinion.

Probably do well with shorts on a 17" riser, Bob Morrision or Sid at Borders could help with that question.

There are many quality limbs avilable in ILF and hopefully others will chime in with there preference. Lately I have been purchasing USA made products only.

You may want to call Bob back and talk to him about limbs.I'm shooting a set of his new design prototype limbs. They are bamboo and glass.I'm not much on carbon limbs. But these seem to do everything a carbon will do.Just smoother.Buy the best you can. That way you wont have to wonder.

When it comes to quality, solid performing ILF hunting limbs, there are a lot more choices today than there was just a few years ago. Trad Tech, Dryad, Border bows, and Morrison archery all make ILF limbs geared toward bow hunting.  The Trad Techs are a pretty good limb and very reasonably priced.  Dryad, Border and Morrison limbs cost a bit more but are excellent quality.  Personally don't believe you can go wrong with limbs from any of the last three bowyers I just mentioned.  Seeing how you have a Morrison riser, I'd call and chat with Bob about what limb length would work best with your draw length.

May want to check out the new Dryad ACS Recurve limbs that Mike has started selling. Curious myself but they look like performers.

Check with Bob Morrison. I got to see his new limb design first hand. I'm sure you won't regret it.

Check out Dyrad also, they have a static limb that's kind'a neat since you like recurves. The Black Max from TT are good for the price!

I have a 17" Morrison riser with Border HEX 6's.

Dryads static tip, Morrison, Borders are great limbs.  I have not shot them all, but they get great reviews.  The Dryads I has shot as well as the Morrisons.  The Trad Tech is nice for the price.  Also check on Zipper.  They make great bows and limbs. I think the ILF limbs are as good as the standard TD limbs, and those are great shooters.

I second what Koger said.  The black Max carbons are dollar for dollar, the best ilf limb you are going to find.  They perform at twice their price.

Only ILF limbs I have ever shot were Zipper ILF limbs and they were nice.
