So was mine. Another spot is being cut in half by a development.

Similar issue happened to an area of Crown land that I have hunted for years.  There was a small access area that was situated between two fields.  Well I guess some guys gained acess to the farmers field on on side and decided to tag all the trees on the road and bordering the field with red dots (no trespassing symbol)  Needless to say I ignore them cause I know the area is public, but a call to check with your department would be in order.

I agree, check to make sure it is legit.  If it is petition to have it made and archery only area.  It might have been made no hunting for distance to suburban sprawl.  Better to make it a known spot for archers than lose it forever.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

How about opening morning, you arrive at your hunting spot (475 acre tree farm) before daylight and there isn't a tree there. Guess I should have done some pre-season scouting.

Bummer - At least it is still land that will provide wildlife habitat.  My honey-hole growing up, and where I killed my first buck, was strip mined.

Sorry to hear.  Happened to me in Southeastern Pa a few years ago.  I miss the "good old days"
