Why would any one hunt coyotes?

You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
Yip yipahooooo yipyipyip.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

They have caught me off guard many times while I was at some distance stalking other animals and not yet even had an arrow nocked.
Nobody stated I hung the hide , had it mounted etc.. Good show men Merry Christmas

Got this girl while hunting deer in kansas out of a blind down in the creek bottom. She came trotting along at 8:23am on a cold morning out about 40 yards. I was going to try a shot but then remembered reading about Tradgangers squeeking them in so gave it a try. She put on the breaks and then came running in, she saw me draw and jumped three feet up in the air at the shot and took off blazing away. I lost sight of her about 70 yards when she went around some trees. I thought I missed her but when I got the arrow it was covered in blood. Two hours later I went to where I last saw her and there she was 30 yards away. I was so psyched and it was the highlight of my trip.

Tim, you are a master !!!

I'm curious, how much country are you hunting ?? I ask since I wonder if you are calling in fresh locations most of the time?

In one of your pictures you appear to be holding a
"visual aid".. How do you set it up and utilize it?

                 Great shooting !

Congrats to everyone, a coyote with a bow is a real trophy.

I saw many coyote chases of deer. They usually come right at prime time when the bucks start to show up. Ha!  This was my eight coyote with a bow. Mike

Pat some places get hit once a week others maybe twice a year. Most weekends a full tank of gas.One of my good spots is 15 minutes from home. Some BLM and Forest lands But mostly private property. I think your seeing the rabbit tails hanging on my bow.Best decoy is a tail hanging from a stick. I seen too many scared off buy the fancy mechanical decoys the have out now.Less is best.

I use to use big bird feathers tied to a bush and used a few bushes at a time.

Edit: Oh and one time my sisters per rabbit on a leash...Shhh   :smileystooges:   ....

This was my first Trad kill......stopped it by squeaking into the back of my hand whne I saw her cruising the woods. She stopped briefly then started trotting away.....Drew back and shot her on the run at what ended up being 33 paces from my treestand.... lucky shot I guess.

Ben.... if you were trying to hit that coyote then it wasn't luck. It was preparation meeting opportunity.
