I am about ready to order the bamboo shafts from my mentor, was wondering what color and length of feathers everybody is using? I am thinking of traditional barred turkey feather as the cock feather, just can't decide on the colors for the other feathers? Also what color cresting (if u have them) does everybody prefer? I've seen a lot of cool looking arrows on the site, just curious to see some more!

Should clarify this, I am primarily focused on hunting, but also shoot 4-5 times a week. I plan on practicing with my broadheads mostly, and after ordering probably 2 dozen arrows I will probably only have 6 tipped with field points, 6 with no tips (in case I happen to need more of either field point or broadhead tipped arrows) and the other arrows tipped with Stos, zwickey and Magnus heads. Also may get a half dozen judo points for squirrels/rabbits or stump shooting. Looking for advice on what you would do if you were just starting out? Thanks!

IMO just about any color looks good with a barredcock feather. If you want to see your arrows well, you could use white or yellow. I have some with yellow hens and turned out suprisingly good with the contrast. If visibility is not an issue black or red hens look good.
On cresting I like black and red with silver or gold pins.

I just done a set with yellow and black splices. Yellow stained caps and black and yellow cresting.

I'll get up some pics

Here are some colors for you to check out. I enjoy doing the splicing, but you can see different combos

Practicing mainly with broadheads is going to tear up your targets and your pretty new feathers!!
