Hunting Hats

Here's a few of mine:

Early season, old school jungle style like back in the day, lol.

Rain, mid season I use this Filson canvas

Mid to late season, a camo felt packer

Cold weather, reversible knit balaclava (sp?)

An oldie but goodie

Hat's not shrinkin Izzy. Your head's swelling up from holding on to those big antlers! Don't shoot such big deer and the hat'll fit just fine again

Trapper, that's a beautiful looking coon skin hat. Did you make it?
I often seen roadkill coons that I think I should pick up and skin out for that very reason, but don't know where to look next to get a nice one made.
A mild day or 2 in the winter will bring them out, but they must be a bit groggy and get hit. Would be prime fur, I'd think.

Classic Bowman Sporting Woolens--

I produce the classic Rail Road type hat--called the Bowman Brim-- it's about 1.75" just big enough to block out the sun.
I consulted the Bowman Brim expert Barry Wensel.
He has give me his stamp of approval.
For 2012 I am doing a special color called Pie Bald. Looks just ike the plaid he is wearing in the photo with Gene of Woody--
my hat is different, it has larger fold down outside ear flaps ( I call them wings) these flaps COMPLETELY cover your ears. My hat also has
pull down inner ear flaps -- so in real cold weather you can get double protection.
The hat is also quilted lined.
Wool is 85 wool 15% nylon-- made 100% in the USA.
IN the futute I plan to put an antler button in the front where the LEATHER tie is---
Any of you that have antler pieces or sheds that would be the size of a quarter, these can be cut on an angle . They look great on the front of the hat. I am going to need quite a few---
I will pay for freight --
I will post some photo's.
Also coming for 2012.
Modified Engineer cap-- called the Bowman Cruiser
wool and cotton canvas. All my plaid colors !

The Bowman Bomber ( Snoopy type)

The Duncan-- this is a newsboy style -- style after bowman of the 1950's

I got it in a Belk's dept store back in the 70's. I doubt you would find one like it now. But you might check out used clothing stores that sell vintage clothing, you never know what you will find. I think there are some online vintage stores too that might have vintage hats. Also yard sales and flea markets are a good possible source. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Yes the origial will cover the ears if you pull it down. They will cover your whole ear with maybe your earlobe or the bottom of your earlobe hanging out. The rancher is warmer and covers more of your neck. The rancher is definitely warmer but may be too warm depending on what you use it for. They are both great hats. Get one of each.
