So I decided to go hunting first time in my life(I am 30) a week ago.Me and two coast guard buddies went to Frank Boykin(South Al.,public land).I took with me my browning wasp, sprayed me and my friends with scent eliminator, put elastic bands under my boots with doe pee, e.t.c.We found a nice spot and we set a "ground blind"(more of a big piece of camo cloth) and sat down behind it.We started whispering and after a while we completely stopped talking. There was a nice breeze, the birds were singing and the ground was soft.First my buddy cameron decided to lie down, then coleman then..me.After 10 min. we were all snoring. We didn't kill anything but we sure had a nice nap that day.

Welcome from Kentucky.

If you are open to any advice, you guys may want to split up from now on. Hard enough to mask scent and movement of one let alone three if a deer comes by.

Welcome!  I need to try to get more relaxed on stand, though maybe not as relaxed as you were.  A nice intro.  Keep at it.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Good advice!!

The only place that bow hunting is a team sport is back in camp or someplace like here.

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Christos,
I told you you'd get a better response on Pow Wow!
Wish you'd related that napping story to me in your PM. Guess we've probably all been there at one time or another, although most of us were probably napping alone!

Gang,
In el greco"s original post on Alabama Bowhunters he was asking if there was anyone in the Mobile vicinity that would be willing to basically mentor him or offer advice on hunting S. Alabama since he is from Greece and has never hunted. Any help would be appreciated.

el greco

Well I really wanted to go alone but my wife wouldn't let me being my first hunt and all.As bawana bowman mentioned any advice is more than welcome and any of you guys that are from s.ALabama and want to hook up I ve got a nice set up with targets in my backyard!
From my cold,dead hands..
