What is the best material for tying cat whiskers onto the bowstring and do you tie around the bowstring or split the sting and tie them between the strands? I have tried some serving material I purchased from 3 Rivers (not tight enough), dental floss (not strong enough), and mycrodyneema fishing line) with varying results. It seems I need to tie them very tight to get them to "fluff up" and I don't think I've found just the right material yet.

I don't put them through the, I tie the around the string.  As for material I use 30lb test spiderwire.  Its strong and small.

I use a small plastic/nylon tie strap to hold them on. Quick and easy. Also add a drop of superglue in the end of strap after I cut it flush. Keeps strap from popping loose on fast bows.

I use dental floss and never had a problem.

I put them through the string and tie them with an overhand knot. Never had on come off.

I have put them thru or tied on and the difference wasn't noticable.  I use a piece of serving to tie them on.

Dental floss, artificial sinew, or a peice of B50.  All work well.  Small drop of superglue will keep the knot from fraying.  I like tying them on so that I can adjust them up or down to fine tune them.

I just tie the catwhiskers themselves around the string. Works good enough for me.

Me too. I didn't think they would stay in place, but I've not had any problems.

I seperate the strands of the string between the colors and tie the wiskers on with an over hand knot works great. KISS   Frank

I use nylon serving thread and it works great, has a little give to it so it locks down really tight and I just fold them in half, wrap around the string and serve with about 3 wraps and touch off with a drop of glue.  Mark

just put them through a flemish twist, and no knots at all.. Split the strands, slide them through. Re-string seperate them, off you go..

Tie around the string with overhand knot...never had a problem this way.
