There are too many crazy stories to tell but I'll delve into one of the shorter ones...

Daniel and I were hunting a 35,000 acre refuge down south, posted up on 2 different ends of a hunt area. I was off to myself by a vast expanse of mudflats.  It was early and I was glassing some far off reeds with my binos when I saw two huge brown boars emerge from the other side of the flats, covered only by a small clump of reeds.

I had good wind so I started the excruciatingly slow process of trudging towards them in the knee deep mud. At times the mudflats opened up into tributaries then more mud. I finally made it across the expanse and was about 20 yards from the hogs, sidestepping for a better shot. I started to draw back then caught movement in the reeds. Creeping up on the boars was a huge gator, and were were all in the center of a mud flat, 150+ yards from shore.  I pondered the situation then turned and decided to make haste.  After I had trudged about 75 yards I hear something and looked back to see one of the big boars running at me from across the flat!!? At first I thought the gator chased him out but the boar was coming directly towards me.  He slowed and I turned to face him and we stared eachtother down for a few minutes at 50 yards.  He held his ground and I decided to leave, I was perflexed, but more worried about the gator than the hog.
Whats even crazier is that I mentioned the episode to another hunter and he immediately went into the flats in search of the pigs, no fear, solo!

Daniel - its was fun! I'll be in touch!

Always be stubborn.

Captain hindsight to the rescue!

We were shooting at a running deer target about 15 yards in front of us. Great time for sure. That is Smitty's daughter and her 4 children, Daniel and me. Smitty was setting the target and letting it go for us to shoot at.

on one of the hunts I was in ankle deep water and saw a railraod tie next to me.  I looked over and saw another "railroad tie" next to me and quickly realized the second one was a gator!
