You can make a bow from any wood but not a good bow from any wood. Poplar would be right up there with a pine 2X4 for bow making, maybe slightly better.

It might make a good bow...if it was designed and backed properly. I suppose you won't really know until you try it.

i made my first bow from poplar....tiller came out bad.....once i tried to fix i was like eh.....i'll wait for my osage to come in!!

I attempted my first bow....if you can call it an attempt, from poplar. The knots do not hold up well at all.
