I lucked in to a small amount of cash and would like to order my daughter a Pup Longbow or Recurve.

Would it be better to start her with one or the other? I grew up shooting recurves and have switched to longbows now.

I would like to see some pics of the Maddog wood combinations. If you have one please share.

Thanks
Ray

He's got a wait list but it's worth it.

I would recommend the Pup.

I would suggest the longbows. We have a bunch in our house. Here are a few.

I just got one for my 4 years old girl and Mike suggested a pup recurve, 16#@21". it look just right, even if she is tall for her age, I think it will suit her just fine( it is for xmas). I shot it a few time, and it is a great little bow, and at that price, you can't go wrong!

Here it is, with arrow by snag(David @ Wilderness arrows)
pink all the way... what else for a girl....

Nice bows guys.

Drifter, what woods are on the bottom bow?

David, I was figuring it would end up pink. I was also looking at the Purple Heart. Thanks for the info. How many years would you figure being able to use it?

While I am at it I might pick up one for the wife too.

My 5 year old daughter really likes her Pup recurve and it fits her great.  Probably perfect for ages 4-8, if 6 or 7 may want to step up to the Pup longbow for some growing room.

At that age it obviously doesn't matter whether its a recurve or longbow (mine mostly likes to see how far she can shoot), but the Pup longbow is simply a bigger bow as you can see from the specs.

Shoot Mike a PM and he will get back to you and steer you right.

Shoot some Zippers and a Bear.

Hardtime, I think the wood is actually dyed laminated stuff, and I'm sure she will enjoy the bow for at least 2-3 years, it is made to 21" draw... we'll see and if she actually use it a lot and like shooting, I don't see a problem to spend an other $100 in two years for a bigger bow!

Thanks for the info guys. My daughter is 4.5 she is tall for her age. I will be ordering a Pup recurve after Christmas. She seems really excited about getting her first bow. We will see how she does. Oh, and the $100 bucks in a couple of years for another is nothing provided she sticks with it.
