Ok here is the thing...First of the year I will hopefully be getting a new long bow....I have not shot many at all, so I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on some quite longbows.. I think that my whip is quite but just wondering of some others that are shooter friendly and quite...

Don Dow stik is by far the quietest bow I have shot. Even queter than most self bows. I think people should compare decible meter readings instead of chrony's.  :D

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

Mild reflex deflex bows are very shooter frendly and more quiet than other designs . I would recommend a Mohawk longbow .

My friend has a ACS that is almost silent, just 2 string leeches on it, he shoots very heavy arrows.....700 gr +.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

I think just about any longbow with a fairly heavy arrow and a pair of catwhiskers is extremely silent. To me it all depends on how heavy of an arrow you shoot. I can prove this by shooting a fishing arrow through any bow.

I had a Beeler LB and it was the quietest bow I have ever shot, even with me shooting 3-under and NO string silencers.

My JK Kanati is dang quiet as well.

Too many to list. Of the ones I've shot and been impressed with are: Thunderstick M.O.A.B, TreeStick,Whippenstick,Toelke Whip & a Centuar.

If I had to pick from that list I'd go with the Whippenstick because it's not only dead in the hand and quite it's one of the fastest.

I will third the ACS CX!  Mine is super quiet with a couple of yarn puffs.

Hubi

x2 for Whippenstick!!!I have also a ACS CX and a Centaur they are great bows for sure !!! But like Mike...  if I had to pick one...it would be the Whippenstick.

If you ever get a chance....shoot a Big River, talk about quiet and no handshock at all...and I mean it..... Some people claim their bow has no handshock but until I shot a Big River, I found out what NO HANDSHOCK really feels like! jMO!

My RER LX is extremely quiet, even with 3 under shooting. Only a pair of beaverballs on the string, and medium weight arrows.

Am going to add you really need to go shoot some bows first other wise it's really like rolling the dice at the crap table. I use to go to every shoot near me traveling 100's of miles for a few of them, not to shoot but only to get my hands on every freaking bow I could and try it out.

All am going to say is I tried bows that you will find rave reviews about that cost $1000 and a year wait or better and if I went that route sight unseen I'd would want to beat the bower over the head with it. Some hurt so bad I almost dropped the bow and you will read guys saying "Dead in the hand"

Most bowers will send you a bow to check out if you send them a check to hold and all it will cost you is shipping fees and it will save you a ton of heart ache and disappointment.

Good luck
