Can anyone tell if this is a Black Widow bow ? Great looking bow , but not the usual red & black. What wood ?

Thank You,

Sure looks like one. BW makes them anyway you want them so somebody probably didn't want the read accent and got something else. I guess there is no writing as the bow was refinished etc. What do the limb timps look like that would really help?

Mike,

I have seen a BW Knock-off made by Samik I believe that looked identical to a SAG, only made in one length though either 54' or 56" I think. Sure does look like a SAG or LAG if it's a longbow.

I do not think so, it may be a knock off or just a bowyer who had used those choice of woods. Is it a LB or recurve, if it either the grip does not look quite right unless it is an older model. Shawn

I believe it is NOT a Widow...

The riser doesn't look quite right for a Widow.

The handle looks like a BW LIW it is the predecesor to the PL, at least that is my understanding.

Thanks Guys, I seen it listed for sale on another forum a while back, that was the only picture. So I saved the pic. I believe it was listed as a longbow although not positive, it's been a while.

THANKS AGAIN,

I do not believe it is a LAG either, again the riser and grip do not look quite right. Shawn

To pointed and square. Almost like a Moosejaw or 21st Century grip.

Above I thought it was a Samik, but I believe it is an AIM bow, copy of a SAG.

Widow made some LAG and SAG's without the red glass in the riser. I have an older BW catalog with a picture of one just like you have there.  Just a production thing, I believe later in the LAG productions you didn't see very many like pictured above, they all had the red glass.

I got the pic off another form, it was being sold and that was the only pic posted.

I had to go and look again, the riser doesn't look like my PLIII.

I believe the Hawkeye was the model that had the reverse mounted limbs like a MA or SA.
