Been using Scent Away for years and it seems to work ok. Ive had my best luck with Fitzgerald Deer Dander as it actually stays in your cloths where as the HS seems to smell like Earth when wet but when dry it doesnt. However I cant see paying $14 for a 4oz bottle of Cover Scent. What do you guys personally use that actually stays in your clothes and eliminates scent? Anything with a decent sprayer and one that actually smells even after dried?

stopped using it 10 years ago, just play the wind

I wash my cloths in scentaway clothing wash then use the dryer to get them mostly dry.
Set them out on the cloths line to let nature do it's thing.

While on the stand I play the wind & sometimes will use fresh earth scent wafers.

Don't use it either and hunt according to the wind.

Scent away is a scent reducer - not a cover scent.

Deer Dander is an attractant/curiousity scent - not a cover.

No such thing as a "cover" scent.
There is no way to hide one oder from a deer with another - they simply smell and process both.

I rely on the wind. I do take natural, local vegetation and use that....I am always crushing pine needles and rubbing them on my clothes, I smear pine pitch on my hat, boots. There is some low bush in my area, I have no idea what it is....Fred Asbell pointed it out to me. When you crush the leaves it has a strong, pleasant, peppery smell. I crush and rub those leaves all over. I have tried to make a tea out of them so I could use them a spray, but it didn't work out.

A product called Essence of Fall. I spray it in the plastic tub that I store my clothes in and they always smell like the woods.

You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

Smoke from a fire and play the wind. Smoke helps cover my scent if I rub against brush etc on the way to my stand.

I like Fall Blend.
That smell always calms me down...  My wife says I smell like dirt, so I guess it is working a little...

Been using Jackies earth cover scent for years.  Buy a gallon every year @ the deer and turkey show.  Tried Nose Jammer this year and have had spectacular results. Not one deer has even stopped on the trail I walked in on.  Have had several dead downwind with no reaction at all.

I wash my clothes in scent away, then keep them in a duffle bag until I am going to my stand.  I do not wear them in the truck or house.  I grab the nearest cedar bush and swat my clothing, hat and boots.  Makes me smell like Christmas...

Above all, hunt the wind.

Based on earlier posts I've been thinking that I should be peeing on myself. Gotta watch that I don't get attacked though.

I don't use a cover scent. Most animals have the ability to smell much more then one thing at a time. Cover scent will not remove your odor.

Wow thanks for all the replies lots of good info here! I always play the wind no matter what I just like a scent on me for when I rub against brush or grass. I hunt alot of thick swamps and brush, it seemed to me I would be better off with some kind of scent on me rather then nothing at all?
