Here's the one I carry on the outside of my Day pack..

One of two I bought from Clay Walker aka: Ragnarok Forge.. It's very nice, light weight and holds a nice edge.. pretty handy for when I have to dig out an arrow.

So, just a question here, what is the advantages/diferences, if any, of a hawk over an axe of same size?

Stumpkiller

No hawks, but I have a polled hand axe and a hatchet I use occasionally.  ;-)

This little hatchet is up for the the "cute" award. I've owned it 30 some years and it goes camping with me. I rarely carry it on my belt for hunting though. It measures only 11" top to bottom. Margly, that is a good looking axe.

This is my Shrew Hawk that was a gift from my Tradgang friends.

I use it all the time while in the woods.  Great for hanging stands and clearing shooting lanes!

Nope.  A 'hawk or tomahawk is a hatchet or small axe in the hands of a heathen sauvage who might be apt to throw or otherwise abuse such a handy thing.  ;-)

Too nice a tool & weapon to throw away.     :biglaugh:

OK, I'll post mine. It's a H and B Forge "Lady's Throwing Hawk" with the handle cut down to 10" and wrapped in elk leather. Nothing fancy but it's everything I need.

Im using this one for the time being. I forged it from a 1 1/2 round bar of L-6 steel X 3 inches long. I carved the haft from Ash and Walnut.
