I have some 20 yr old cedar arrows (Kustom King). Excellent, beautiful arrows but I neglected them. The fletching is "matted" down on some. Can it be revitalized by steaming? Or is there another method?

Jock Whisky

If they are just matted steaming should work. If not refletching is not impossible.

If you want to strip the paint and start from scratch that's a bit more work. What worked for me was to immerse the shafts in a dip tube filled with lacquer thinner (MEK) for about 10 minutes. That stuff ate the paint in no time. If you do this be sure to follow the manufacturers safety instructions and do it outside. That stuff is not nice in a poorly ventilated area

Old doesn't start until you hit three figures...and then it's negotiable

Grey Taylor

Try steaming them. If it doesn't work you're out some time and a couple cups of water.
Otherwise, they can be re-fletched.

Tie two birds together; though they have four wings, they can not fly.

Yes try steaming them if that doesn't work pm me. I've done a lot of redo's on arrows. I'll guide you thru it. It's messy and time consuming but worth it.
